One strategy many people use to build a dynasty team is to latch onto prolific offenses.  Who doesn't want a player on New Orleans' or Indianapolis' offensive juggernauts?  These offenses tend to sqeeze a ton of fantasy production out of role players (think Pierre Garcon and Pierre Thomas, although having Pierre as a given name is optional!) and make superstars out of elite athletes.  We here at DynastyFootballFan.com try to find trends and analyze opportunity before it happens so that you can dominate your league.  With this in mind, we've put together this list of the top 10 fantasy offenses ranking them in order of their dynasty potential.  When I say "dynasty potential" I mean the ability for the offense to have extraordinary fantasy point generation over the course of the next 3 to 5 years.

There are several items to consider when ranking dynasty potential of NFL offenses and we've covered them here.  First, we provide a 1 to 10 ranking of Current Potential which indicates whether they are ready to produce in 2010 and beyond.  Next we provide a 1 to 10 ranking of Future Potential which indicates  whether they will be ready to produce extraordinary fantasy points in the next 3 to 5 years.  In both rankings, 10 is the best and 1 is the worst.  Finally, we list the players you most want on these offenses and which ones you may not want.

1 - New Orleans Saints

New Orleans' offense is as good as they come and could go down as one of the most dynamic all-time.  Sean Payton distributes the ball all over the field and gets the most out of everyone of his players.

10 - Current Potential - If you are unaware that New Orleans won the Super Bowl last year then you might as well find another hobby, because fantasy football is not for you!  The Saint's offense will be in high gear again in 2010 and there is no reason to shy away from taking any of their starters and even most of their role players.  If you can lock into one or two of these players for the next several years, you'll be well ahead of the game

10 - Future Potential -   Drew Brees is 31, that's like being 26 in RB years, he's right in his prime.  There is no doubt that barring major injury he can be as productive as he's been since he got to New Orleans for many more years.  Kurt Warner was productive until 38, who's to say Brees can't do the same?  Brees is the catalyst and Sean Payton is the Sorcerer for this team and neither are going anywhere any time soon.

Drew Brees Reggie Bush Jeremy Shockey

Pierre Thomas Robert Meachem

2 - Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis' offense is like a well oiled machine, it doesn't matter what new gears you put in, it still runs like a champ.  2010 will see another stellar offensive season in Peyton's place and his options will be even better with Anthony Gonzalez returning and Donald Brown continuing to develop.

10 - Current Potential - Indy was one poor pass away from winning the Super Bowl last year.  With Indy and the Saints reaching the Super Bowl it shows how important in this day and age having a high caliber offense is for a team.  There is very little reason for this success not to continue into 2010 and 2011 so feel free to grab these guys early and often

8 - Future Potential -   Here's the rub on Indy, Peyton Manning is now 34 years old and as with Drew Brees in New Orleans, as Peyton goes so goes this offense.  While I believe Manning has several stellar seasons left, there is potential that injury or age will slow him down in the 3 to 5 year range.  Add to that the fact that his long time Offensive Coordinator Tom Moore retired after the Super Bowl, there is a bit less potential here than in Indy.

Peyton Manning Pierre Garcon Mike Hart

3 - Dallas Cowboys

There are several teams that could have filled this spot, but Dallas is the most compelling today.  Tony Romo just turned 30 and while he's had his ups and downs, there is no doubting his ability to run this offense.

10 - Current Potential - Dallas actually was the second most prolific yardage team last season, behind New Orleans gaining 399.4 yards per game.  They have Romo, the deepest RB core in the NFL and a mix of talented WRs, not to mention Jason Witten at TE.  There is no doubt that they will continue this great offensive run for many years with a core of young and talented players at every skill position.

7 - Future Potential -   In 3-5 years there are several things that can derail the Cowboys despite there immense talent.  First, Wade Phillips is a marked man.  If he can't get the Cowboy's deep into the playoffs, he will be out in the next couple of years.  With that risk comes the risk that they give up on Romo or try to start with a fresh QB, submarining what they currently have.

4 - Green Bay Packers

Green Bay was  very unsettled just a couple of years ago.  Brett Favre left and Aaron Rodgers, his long-time backup took over and Packer fans all over the world cringed.  It turns out there was nothing to fear.  While the team itself has not made the playoffs since Aaron Rodgers took over, it's certainly not his fault.  He was the #1 fantasy QB last season and has enough weapons around him to be successful for many more years.

9 - Current Potential - Aaron Rodgers is a mere 26 years old.  He has a quality RB behind him and several WRs good enough to make this offense powerful.  Jermichael Finley developed in the 2nd half of last season into a threat at TE, rounding out an offense that can put the ball anywhere on the field anytime.

9 - Future Potential -   In 3-5 years I see only one issue that can cause problems for Rodgers and crew and that's the WR corp.  Greg Jennings underachieved last season and will need to step up his game if he wants to be considered elite.  Donald Driver is quality but is 35 years old and figures to be out of the game and irrelevant from a fantasy perspective very soon.  James Jones and Jordy Nelson have yet to step up so the Packers have to refill the pipeline at WR in order to stay a major threat in the passing game.

5 - Houston Texans

The Texans have quietly developed into a lethal offensive team.  They finished 4th in yards/game last season and 10th in total scoring.  They are young , hungry for the playoffs and have no reason to take a major hit offensively for the foreseeable future.

9 - Current Potential - Matt Schaub is finally rounding out into a quality QB.  He still has a bit of an injury history and inconsistent play, but he's developed enough to be considered ready to be elite if he continues to perform in 2010.  He's got Andre Johnson, several RBs and Owen Daniels around him so there is no reason for them not to have another great season.

9 - Future Potential -   Matt Schaub is 29, Andre Johnson is 28 and Owen Daniels is 27.  They are in their prime and the biggest concern is injury.  All three have been out at times the last three years and it's the main reason they have not just taken off as an offense.  The other issue with this offense is the RB situation.  Prior to 2009 it looked like Steve Slaton would be a star but after a ton of fumbles and losing his confidence mid-season the corp is in disarray.  Slaton, Arian Foster and Ben Tate will fight for the job and probably share carries until someone shows they can carry the load.

6 - Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota is an interesting offense.  Marked by strikingly athletic young talent and the oldest dog in the league.  They are at once fast, powerful and wily and deserving of being in the top 10 of fantasy offenses.

10 - Current Potential - Let's set this straight right now, Brett Favre will be back for another run, let's not be foolish.  He's got Sidney Rice, Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin and a mountainous offensive line to protect him.  The Vikings were 2nd to only the Saints in scoring last year and 5th in points in the NFL, there is no reason they can't repeat this or even improve a notch in 2010.

7 - Future Potential -   Obviously, Favre only has a year, maximum two left in him.  I doubt very seriously he plays past 2010.  How do you replace his arm, moxie, experience.  The answer is you don't.  Whether you draft a rookie or give Sage Rosenfels or Tavaris Jackson a chance, they can't possibly match what Favre brings, even when he's over 40.  That's the bad news, the good news is Harvin is 22, Sidney Rice is 23 and Adrian Peterson is 25.  If the Vikes can hold onto those 3 guys for another round of contracts, there's no reason my grandmother couldn't take over for Favre and get 350 yards a game from this team.

7 - New England Patriots

The Patriots are the blob offense of the NFL.  It seems they don't care who they throw to, whom they give the ball to or how far they are down the depth chart, there is always someone touching the ball of which you've never heard.

9 - Current Potential - You might call me crazy on this one but I see chinks in the armor on this team.  Yes, it was only two years ago that they had an undefeated regular season and set all the NFL records for offense, but I do not see a return.  The good news is, even if they don't hit that level they are good enough to hang with anyone and as long as Tom Brady sticks around, the offense will find ways to make plays against anyone.

7 - Future Potential -   Tom Brady is 32, not ancient but getting older.  Randy Moss will probably only be around for one more season, Wes Welker is coming off major reconstructive knee surgery and won't have his great agility for a bit of time this season.  They've never had a reliable RB and they seem to have peaked 2 years ago.  2010 should be a good one but look for less after that as the offense starts to go through the same transition that the Patriots defense is going through now.

8 - Miami Dolphins

Here is our first dark horse of the list and it won't be our last.  Miami has slowly been building there talent and depth back up since Bill Parcells took over 3 years ago.  Now, while they aren't great today, with the trade for Brandon Marshall and the development of Chad Henne, this offense is getting ready to go places.

6 - Current Potential - This year will be a test for this offense.  Will Chad Henne continue to develop?  Will Brandon Marshall stop getting in trouble?  Will Ronnie Brown stop getting injured?  These are all valid question that hurt Miami's current potential.  If the answers are Yes, Yes and Yes then the sky is the limit for these guys.

10 - Future Potential -   Brandon Marshall brings a dynamic to this group that could be electrifying.  The receiver core with him of Devone Bess, Brian Hartline and Greg Camarillo are sure handed, quick and experienced now.  Chad Henne showed he has the potential to be a perennial top notch QB and if Ronnie Brown sticks around, he is young enough to continue to make plays for this team.

9 - Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore has never been known as an offensive team, their defense has always been the standout side of the ball.  That's about to change.  With Ed Reed and Ray Lewis starting to break down and Joe Flacco and Ray Rice evolving into their prime, offense is the new defense in Baltimore.

8 - Current Potential - Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, Anquan Boldin.  Not a bad threesome eh?  If Flacco continues to develop and Ray Rice has another strong year, Cam Cameron and his squad will make some waves through the air this year, not just on the ground.

9 - Future Potential -   The only question here is the receiver core.  Bolden is a great weapon but is oft injured.  Derrick Mason is solid but getting very old.  Donte Stallworth is at this point a second or third option at best and Mark Clayton and Demetrius Williams have yet to really stand out.  As this corp goes, so will go this offense.

10 - Detroit Lions

That's right, I said it.  More potential than Philly, the Jets, Chargers, Giants, Steelers and Falcons.  Detroit has been so bad for so long, all of those top picks are starting to pay off.

6 - Current Potential - Let's not pretend that the Lions are going to light it up consistently in 2010, they won't.  They will, however show enough potential to put a down payment on a bunch of these guys.  Matthew Stafford has a rifle arm and just needs some seasoning.  Calvin Johnson is dominant and will stay that way for a long while.  Jahvid Best is explosive and will be the starting RB at some point during the season, if not from the first game.

9 - Future Potential -   In 3-5 years there could be an Arizona Cardinals like rebirth of this team, led by the offense.  I say that because I think the offense will get good first, in the next few years and they will then bring in another coach to get the defense squared away and start making runs deep into the playoffs.  There is no reason to believe this incredibly young threesome can't develop into something very special.
